The Arnold Foundation Programme
at Rugby School

Rugby School is an English fee-charging boarding school in Rugby, Warwickshire, England. The school’s alumni include a UK prime minister, several bishops, prominent poets, scientists, writers and soldiers. Not to mention that Rugby School is the birthplace of rugby. They are one of the leading co-educational boarding school in the UK.

The schools motto ‘The whole person, the whole point’ resonates well with our own approach at YPDVA, emphasizing the importance of academia, sport and performing arts – creating rounded individuals.

Since 2018, Ysgol Penrhyn Dewi Year 10 pupils have been supported through their application for an Arnold Foundation Award. The sole purpose of the Arnold Foundation, which is funded entirely from voluntary donations, is to provide bursaries (up to 100% of all fees), subject to means testing, for students in boarding places at Rugby School. One or two YPDVA pupils are accepted every year, with some pupils gaining additional scholarships in sport and performing arts.

The initial meeting and process starts in the January of year 10.
